Place des Arts Endowment Fund

Place des Arts is a non-profit organization that has been providing quality multidisciplinary arts education in the Tri-Cities for over 36 years. Generations of families—over 64,000 people each year—come to Place des Arts to attend art classes, concerts, community events and exhibitions.

Since 1989, Place des Arts has provided financial assistance to hundreds of students through our Scholarship and Bursary Awards Program. The awards help offset the costs involved in arts study and reward students for their dedication and achievement.

In response to the increasing number of scholarship and bursary applicants each year, the Place des Arts Endowment Fund was established in 2007 to provide a stable source of funding for our Scholarship and Bursary Awards program. The Place des Arts Endowment Fund is held by the Vancouver Foundation, which has over 60 years of experience helping non-profit organizations. Interest income generated from the Endowment Fund will be used to fund our scholarship and bursary awards, ensuring that future students benefit from an arts education.

Thanks to the generous $30,000 contribution of the Coquitlam-Maillardville Heritage Trust, Place des Arts is close to reaching its goal of $100,000. Donations were also received from the BC Arts Renaissance Fund, Place des Arts fundraising initiatives and community members.  As of December 2009, contributions to the fund totalled $90,403.

Donations to the Place des Arts Endowment Fund are a lasting legacy, supporting generations of artists, musicians, dancers and actors.
